Trophy-size Walleye have been pulled from the Brest Bay and Bolles Harbor areas. Lake Erie Perch are plentiful all along the Southeast Lower Peninsula coast of Michigan.

Work on your handicap at this beautiful and challenging course that is adjacent to Harbortown. Three sets of tees offer up to 6600 yards of play. Water is featured on 14 of the 18 holes. The practice facility offers a large teeing area, a putting green and a chipping green with practice sand bunker. Enjoy the offerings of the pro shop, restaurant, bar and banquet facilities.

Monroe County, Michigan Historic Sites

Monroe County Historical MuseumMonroe County Historical Museum

Set in the heart of downtown Monroe, Michigan since 1972, the Monroe County Historical Museum is housed in a large Georgian-style building that was originally built as a post office in 1910 on the site of the home of George Armstrong Custer. Today, the museum contains a vast collection of 18th and 19th century artifacts related to Southeast Michigan. Exhibits change regularly and guided tours may be arranged by appointment. Be sure to drop by the gift shoppe to browse the books and souvenirs!

River Raisin BattlefieldRiver Raisin Battlefield

The battlefield at River Raisin was the site of a historic battle for Frenchtown, Michigan (Monroe's former name) during the War of 1812 and pitted the forces of the newly formed United States against the combined forces of Great Britain and local Native Americans. The British-Indian victory at the battle, which lasted from January 18-23 in 1813 had a definite impact on the Great Lakes Campaign as Frenchtown was overrun and led to invasions in the Ohio Frontier. Today, you can explore and re-live the battle at the Visitors Center, which hosts a variety of exhibits and artifacts.

Navarre-Anderson Trading PostNavarre-Anderson Trading Post

The original structure of the Navarre-Anderson Trading Post is the oldest existing wooden building in the state of Michigan. The site houses the classic example of French-Canadian "piece-sur-piece" construction circa 1797 in the main building, plus an 1810 cookhouse and a replica 1790ís French-Canadian style barn. The grounds are open year-round and host the annual Colonial Living History Weekend with Campeau Company, a Colonial civilian and military reenactment.

Martha Barker Country Store MuseumMartha Barker Country Store Museum

The Martha Barker Country Store Museum is housed in the Papermill School Building which dates to 1860 and is now a replica of a common country store circa 1918. The exhibits and authentic artifacts are donated by local families and businesses. A limited number of items are available for sale in the museum, including "penny candy" and small souvenirs that ensure your visit is a memorable one.
